Tuesday Tidbits

What a fun week it has been!
Have you been enjoying the Trunk Full of Quilts Show as much as I have?  I have so enjoyed seeing groups of people's quilts, as well as receiving so many kind comments! Thank you!!!!
Along with that, here are a few things that have been going on since finishing up the tiny triangles top:
After MUCH deliberation, opinions garnered on FaceBook,
l to r: random alternate, rows, rows orange emphasis
and many go rounds in the dryer,
a decision was made on the layout of my Simply Sawtooth
Finally! Phew!
I am really happy to have taken this BOM upon myself!
I think I can have it finished up yet this year :)

On another front....
I have mentioned before (I think?), wanting to make a paper quilt block, inspired by a hometown artist several years ago.  This blue check packaging sent me over the edge, and then the orange flour sack to go with it? Puhleese!!!
So yesterday afternoon I indulged in some completely unnecessary paper cutting and gluing fun!
Not sure how I will finish this up...I'll see what size frames are available, and I may want to come up with a 4 block "sampler" ...don't know, we'll see. I don't want to trim it until I have a final plan.
Northumberland Star...8"
This table runner came about suddenly, as I had hoped to use it as a "Thank you" for a very good deed done to the Hubs and boys while they were out of town not too long ago....
I used 24 charms from PB&J and Persimmon, both by Basic Grey, cut down into 4- 2" squares each, and 24-5" Bella white charms. Backing is also from Persimmon, and binding is a blue/black crosshatch I had on hand.
14" x 36"

It turned out to be not so suitable for the Thank you, but it was a fun little finish nonetheless!

Linking up, again (!!!) with Beth and Main Crush Monday :)
and Lorna and Let's Bee Social :)

Those sawtooth blocks look wonderful laid out like that Sarah! Love the color scheme you put together!
Oh gosh, now I'll be scoping put every bit of paper with paper quilt blocks in mind. How pretty!
The table runner you made is great too. Basic Grey is a favorite of mine. I have a whole mess of Persimmon fabrics just waiting their turn to play.

A paper quilt block? Who knew!!! What a fun idea and now I will be checking out all the paper bits that make their way into my house. :) I love Basic Grey fabrics and think your table runner looks so sweet. You've got a lot going on, girl! Thanks for linking to MCM!

Your Simply Sawtooth looks great. I especially love how you can see the seams through it before it is quilted. And the paper block ..... now is that madness or genius?!!

I really like your colors on the Simply Sawtooth quilt... I think some projects just need a good amount of deliberation time.

What an interesting idea to make a paper block... just as long as you didn't mix up your paper and fabrics scissors in the process ; )

Fun WIP's this week!

Greetings from Germany
