Tuesday Tidbits

Warmer temperatures bring a mixed blessing out here in the Breaks....
the quagmire that is our yard and driveway during any winter or spring thaw
is this TMI?
I suppose it becomes a matter of where you choose to place your focus...
looking beyond the yard, to the horizon...
I know, corny, right?
But still...

In the meantime, the mail was worth Friday's arduous trip to fetch it :)
Look at this sweet package that arrived from our Hoosier buddies...it seems Miss Hannah has her little brother started in the yarn arts as well! Check out his little potholder! I am tickled...orange! with all this homemade goodness!!

Mrs. Romans also sent along the Irish Chain book, which is so timely since I will be making one for my #2 son this year! My Mother-in-Law has this very book, so I am familiar with it and just love having a copy of my own! Thanks so much y'all!!

is this not the sweetest trivet? I just love the pattern...and it is two layers! Very cool!

I also received this sizeable piece of lovely that I ordered from Stash Fabrics, which will bring me a little closer to finishing one of my Q1 goals. I had been keeping an eye out for a backing.....

This "Olavi" in Rosey Cheeks, by Lotta Jansdotter, seemed to be just the right mix of mild color and bonus "gingham-esque" to go with the rather odd mix of fabrics that is my Fly Home quilt
I wasn't looking for a "perfect match" as such...I think I will love them together!
On another random note, does anyone else keep a collection like this?

When I see these peeking out at me, I am reminded that, yes, I have bought and still have, plenty of pretty fabrics :)
Those of you who swap and such must really have the memorabilia of this friendly quilty world!

My little garden of "roses" is growing...

I am thinking, at 9" each, as long as I have some gingham and any Kate Spain, it will just keep growing for awhile :)
no hurry, no worry....

I will leave you with one last little bit for this week....

I am actually beginning to have a stack of quilts! Oh joy!!

(Ready and waiting for February!!)

I will be joining the get-together @ Sew Fresh Quilts "Let's Bee Social"  :)

I love seeing your growing stack of quilts! I have a stack of projects to finish for other people, so my stack hasn't grown too much recently.

Despite the quagmire you must be happy to have the temps to not be so cold, Sarah. Is't it great to have lots of projects to keep you busy in these winter months of staying inside more often? Thanks for stopping in with your sweet comment on Sunday.

What fun mail to get!!! The flying geese potholder is pretty awesome as well as the coaster. I have had gingham stuck in my head this week....I wonder if I caught that from you?!?! Your rose garden is seriously gorgeous. Who knew roses bloomed so pretty in the middle of a Montana winter :)

Really like the squares. I inherited somw 40 year old ones just like them from my grandmother. I think I will get them out and do something with them...
