Love and Kisses!

My beautiful Mother celebrates her 80th birthday this week!
Without a plan for anything bigger, I came up with a smaller plan.
Juicy fruit colors and pale pastels....
vibrant (happy, lively, cheerful, adventurous),
and soft (quiet, thoughtful, composed, loving), like her!
I improvised a little 3" (finished) x block....
Oops!  The L disappeared!
Ahh, that's better!
Straight line machine quilting with every pale color I had,
Hand stitching in the main panel with doubled thread for visibility.
6"x14", to fit a feather neck roll form I found online at Bed, Bath and Beyond...
I hope it is nice :)
The first L reappears on the back...more pastel...
A speedy little finish, but it is packed full of love!
Happy LXXXth Birthday to Mom!

A beautiful post to celebrate a beautiful woman! Your mother does not look her age at all and seems full of love and life. Lovely tribute Sarah - you seem to be much like her perhaps. Your siblings all look to be close in age too.

What a lovely idea. I love it. You are so lucky to still have your mom with you. She is lucky to have a daughter like you too.

I read this post like reading a mystery novel. See, I thought you were trying to spell LOVE or X and O. But it was only on the last page of the novel, that the Roman numerals mystery jigsaw puzzle piece clicked together in my brain. I had such an AHA moment.
Wow, the little details, the choice of colors and overall cuteness makes it an amazing gift. Glad that my mother does not read blogs, otherwise she'd be demanding one too :-)
Hugs,
Preeti.
