It's a party, over at Yvonne's, y'all!!!
Suffice it to say that 2018 was rather hit and miss over here at Cedar Fork Stitches.
I was able to get in quite a bit of sewing, but the blogging took a back seat to, 1. Working away from home the second quarter and 2. Instagram!
There are going to be a couple notable changes here in 2019.
1. The first is a really big and happy one for me!
I have been invited to be one of the global hosts for the 2019 Finish Along!
I have been an avid participant of the Finish A Long since my first go, back in January 2014!
This ongoing quarterly linky event has really helped me to organize and prioritize those projects and motivated me to finish so many within a reasonable time frame!
I am super excited to continue my participation in this way, and to be able to contribute to the fun of one of my very favorite things in this quilty bloggy community!
insert pretty quilt pictures to break up the list! |
2. So, because of that, this blog baby of mine is going to get a bit of an overdue overhaul.
This will be mostly in the form of consolidating my Pages, and adding a dedicated Finish A Long Page
3. I would like to get back to a more regular schedule of blog posts. While I have always been more of a "by the seat of my pants" blogger, I would like to make at least 2 posts a month. I put off getting on Instagram for a while, but little did I know that when I did get on, in January of 2016, my interest in my own and others' blogs would suffer so. As a result, the posts I did make were usually for the Finish A Long! In conjunction with this, our household is going to attempt to get off of Wifi at the house in 2019, which should help my blogging efforts tremendously by rendering the ipad weak and powerless over me, lol!
4. As for my actual sewing and quilting plans, I have a college-ruled notebook page FILLED with quilty goals/plans/ideas for 2019!
They breakdown like this:
- 10 WIPs, projects still in the works, and UFOS, projects that have reached the "finished top" stage.
- 2 babies on the way, and we all know what that means!
- 1, maybe 2, weddings, ditto above!
- 14 ideas that neeed to go from paper to fabric!
- 1 more Level Two Tote, maybe 2!
- 3 (or more!) pillows!
I will save the particulars of these items for my Quarter 1 Finish A Long list!
I sure hope you will join us in January as we kick off the 2019 Finish A Long!
I will be hosting and posting the details soon!

Many thanks to Yvonne/Quilting Jetgirl for hosting this super timely 2019 Planning Party!

Gonna be a busy year! Best to you in 2019!
Congratulations on becoming one of the FAL hosts for 2019! I am intrigued by the idea of getting off of Wifi; at the very least a day or two a week could be a great idea / place to start (hmmm, now I'm really pondering, thanks!). :) I hope you have a wonderful year and thank you so much for linking up!
So fun that you will be the next FAL host. I fell out of it last year, but now I have plans to jump in again. Instagram takes it all for many of us, and we'll need to rethink about it. Instagram is fine, but gives us just small glimps of things. I try to keep up my blog though.
Sounds like a super fun and productive 2019!
The FAL sounds interesting. I will have to check that out.
Good luck with the births and weddings. . . both fun but somewhat nerve wracking times.
Congrats on co-hosting the Finish-Alongs. I try to join in but keep forgetting. Maybe one of my goals in 2019 will be to plan these better :-) Best of luck with your 2019 goals!
Congrats on becoming a FAL host! I'm looking forward to sharing and seeing a new year of finishes!
Awesome news about the FAL. Good luck with the goals. I'm hoping more and more of us will come back to blogging. It's more thoughtful than instagram...for me anyway.
Congrats on the big blog change with your co-hosting. Hope you enjoy it as much as the participation. I will definitely join you all :)
And good luck with your blog restructuring. I know it takes quite a while but to me it is always worth it. Oh, and of course good luck with the projects and lots of sewing fun! xo
