Ta-Da!

Flowering Snowball!
Another very satisfying finish, #6 from my Q1 Finish Along list!
Pieced in 2014 with the Molly Flanders Snowball Along :)
I had more fun putting my very first perle cotton to use on this quilt!
I think the stitching is most appropriate for this, considering Mary, Molly Flanders, and Sunny Day Supply, etc.....the way I see it, I basically had no other choice :) I machine quilted a bunch first, then went back and hand stitched in the particular places I wanted it.
I tried to photograph it yesterday, in the wind, on the back porch...again...
*bored*

Awoke to a splendid morning, so I took my quilt and my youngest son for a short drive and some pictures! This is the road my husband and I walk daily, so it was extra fun to photograph my quilt here...

can you spot the deer? hint: just left of center of the quilt
It was a bit breezy at the top of the hill :)

Lovely gingham "peek-a-boo" :)
Unobstructed view...yep, our road to town and the Musselshell River :)
And basically, our backyard :)
Flowering Snowball Quilt Stats:
 55"x 65"
Fabrics:
Weeds layer cake, by Me&My Sister
Carolina 1" gingham  backing
Valdani #8 perle cotton, hand stitching

Definitely Crushing on this finish @ Main Crush Monday with Beth/CookingUpQuilts
Also another chance to link up with CrazyMomQuilts and Finish It Up Friday :)

I absolutely *love* the look of your hand stitching with the Perle cotton. I would love to be able to do that. Your quilt is beautiful, and you have such wonderful spots for photography. Thanks so much for sharing on MCM!

This is so gorgeous Sarah!!! The hand quilting and gingham take this to the next level and makes me think Mary!!!!

It looks amazing Sarah! I love seeing more of your countryside too - looking rather dry at the moment.

Your perle hand stitching certainly adds a "certain something to you quilt, along with the machine quilting. Such a great idea!

What a lovely quilt. The hand quilting with thicker thread adds OOMPH to it. I wish I could see more pictures.
Hugs,
Preeti.

It's great to see an everyday view from your walk and look at it differently, it made a great backdrop for this quilt! Congrats on a long term finish. The darks and lights are very effective.
