I Finished This!

Number 4 on my Q3 Finish Along list was this barn quilt panel.
Part of a collaborative effort put together to be auctioned in sets of 4, to raise funds for the Hay Press Barn restoration currently underway by the Switzerland County, IN Historical Society.
This was a fun project that I took my time with over the Summer months. The embroidery embellishments were my first foray into that particular realm, courtesy of Gina @ partyofeightourstory, who graciously surprised me with an embroidery "starter kit"...how timely was that!
Of course, I had to make a barn quilt, for my barn quilt!
I have never attempted to make an "art quilt" per se, but I think this effort of mine and others certainly qualifies!
Here are the sets, all together, along with a photo of the barn that these panels were to illustrate,

These will be auctioned as part of the Historical Society's Rural Heritage Tour, taking place this weekend, October 2-3.
So glad I was able to participate in this!

Easy As...123

1.  Tape off a 4 inch square. Give it 2 coats of exterior base color.
2.  Draft a simple quilt block with pencil and straight edge. Tape off where you do not want color, using painters tape and a razor blade.
3.  Paint with exterior color. One or two coats, your choice.
4.  When paint is dry, remove tape. Voila! Done and ready to hang!

Home Sweet Home!

Single family dwelling, available now :)

Welcome, Summer, I am so glad you're here!

Tuesday Tidbits...More Roses

the name of the compass on nautical navigational maps
I made this barn quilt for my Dad.  He sails.

This has been several years coming, put off mostly by a couple different moves.

I get to give it to him personally, on Wednesday!

SO excited to see him!!!

And in other rosy news,
I am this close to finishing the binding on this one

Here's to a happy week everyone!!! :)
