Trunk Full of Quilts!
at Whims and Fancies!
How much fun is this?
Link up a new blog post featuring your favorite quilts? Love it!
I also love to play and participate just for the fun of it...and there are some prizes to be won...
this party has pushed all my buttons!
I so look forward to seeing people's favorite makes!
Please play...I want to see your faves too!
There is no question some quilts pop right to mind when I think "my favorites",
so here they are, in no particular order and linked to their original posts:
Winter Sparkle
21" x 21"
I made this for a last minute challenge for Sew Lux fabrics in December 2013
Silver Lining
27" x 27"
This is also known as my "Reminder Mini",
to remind me of Exodus, by Leland Ave. Studios
Made in August 2015
Cathedral Windows
9" x 18"
Made in May 2015
It is simply flurrious!
The unexpected result of an equally unexpected flurry of Cathedral Windows pincushions :)
Prairie Rose
45" x 45"
Pick a Rose, any Rose!
I have a separate label on this blog for "Prairie Rose,"
because once I made the discovery of this block, I haven't stopped making them in some form or another! Each one is a favorite.
This is the original, so it gets to be in the Trunk Show!
Made in September 2014

bonus baby photo! the block's namesake, Lila Rose |
I was also happy to make a wonderful full sized, 12 block version for the Moda Bake Shop just this past September, if you want to take a look :)
85" x 91"
This is the quilt on my bed, always!
I can flip it over to it's all white side for an instant "design bed" :)
Made June 2014
48" x 56"
I made this for my Mother-In-Law
I think it is far and away the sweetest quilt I have made!
2 fabrics from Aneela Hoey's Posy, and a charm pack of Bella 30's solids
Made February 2014
50" x 61"
I made this for one of my sisters.
I wish I had made it longer.
I am enraptured by these fabrics, together :)
So much so that this is and will always be my Flickr "header" :)
These were made for my Brother-In-Law,
who also picked and provided all the fabrics, with the exception of the osnaburg on the back...that was me!
A brilliant combination of fabrics, design and color paired with the super pattern from Alissa Haight Carlton
Also my formal introduction to the wonder that is Amy Butler!
No truck show of mine would be complete without
Haha!
Many thanks to Avis@OhSewTempting for inspiring my "Year of the Chicken"!
Again, there is a chicken label on this blog, and a tutorial...so pick a chicken, any chicken!

Great work! A lovely display.
So many beautiful quilts and projects! I love the one on your bed!
So many beauties here...design bed, eh? I usually use my floor...that's a great idea as long as there are no pins involved :)
Great post and love those chicks!
Thanks for not having embedded comments that I can't use! I love your quilts, such a nice cheerful body of work. The one on your bed is very appealing. You have some lucky relatives to be the recipients of so much quilty goodness.
Thanks for sharing your trunk! I am especially loving your mini quilts and baby quilts!

Oh girl! Just one wonderful quilt and quilted project after another! It's fun to see them gathered together in one post! You really cracked me up at the end Sarah..."Chickens!" Hee hee.
What a fabulous collection! I love your style! And who doesn't love chickens? Thanks for sharing!
Your work is really beautiful. The colors you use are so fresh and pretty.
What pretty quilts and adorable chickens!
I love your Happy Healing quilt--so cheerful!
Lots of gorgeous quilts! Bold and bright quilts are my absolute favorites and you certainly have a lot of those!
Really beautiful and cheerful! The Silver Lining is so clever. Thank you for sharing!

So much fun to look at all of your lovlies :) Your BIL has some pretty incredible taste! Those place mats are absolutely stunning!! And those chicks are just too darn cute!
What a fun set of quilts! I had to dig deeper into your Voyageur Quilt because I so love the Hudson Bay look. Even though you showed what others did with the design idea, I think you made it uniquely your own with the scrappy piecing of the stripes. And I really like how you continued the stripes through the binding.
Wonderful group of quilts and things! thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing your trunk full with us! They are all wonderful.
A fresh colorful group of quilts and projects, thank you for sharing.
Many lovely quilts here and your chickens brought a smile :)
Great quilts! I especially love the Lemonade Hug and those placemats for your BIL are outstanding!
All of your quilts are beautiful, even the ones in your header. I am personally attached to your cathedral windows because I want to make one some day. I just love the fabrics you chose.
Sarah, your quilts are stunning! I can't choose a favorite--they are all terrific. So glad I found you via the Trunk Show :)
Oh, and your chickens--they just crack me up!!
Thanks for sharing all your projects. Your chickens made me smile!
These are all beautiful quilts!! Love the smaller size (something I could aim for), and those chickens are super cute ;)

That was a nice selection of quilts! And I agree, the chickens were a necessary addition.
